Maureen Ford

Dear Mel, I would like to thank you for your great lessons. When I first joined your beginners class I was recovering from a long term problem in my right hip. Recommended a Pilates class and I was delighted when I saw that you had started a class in Frimley Green that I could walk to.

I had lots of different treatments on my right prior to joining your class, and I had realised that the only way for me was funny to strengthen my core muscles with daily exercises. I found you a very experienced and knowledgeable teacher who encouraged all of your students but you still brought a sense of fun into your classes.

You told me a few exercises that would be good for You told me a few exercises that would be good for my hip, so I feel that I have to thank you for helping me to improve the muscles in my hip.

The increased strength in my core muscles has also really helped in my canoeing lessons which I started in September 2012.

Thank you so much for your help kind regards Maureen Ford yoga teacher 66 years old.

Mel is a superb instructor. Lots of fun in the classes which she adapts superbly to everyone's needs. I joined Mel's Pilates about 6 or 7 years ago with my Daughter in Law. We were new to Pilates. Thanks to Mel, my Daughter in Law managed to practice pilates right up until just before her second child was born. I haven't been able to go for the last two years due to my job but now that Mel's put on an 8:30pm class, I am back!

Of the many Pilates instructors I have had, Mel is definitely one of the best! The name of her business, Pilates position, is very apt, since what distinguishes her from most other instructors is the position of her language and instructions, corresponding to the position of the movements. Our classes always have a specific and very well thought out focus with considerable variety of activity, which makes them enjoyable as well as beneficial. I would recommend her wholeheartedly those new to Pilates as well as seasoned practitioners.

Mel is a really fun and experienced teacher who pays attention to each person and their individual capabilities. Great to be part of her Wednesday night crew.

I have always wanted to try Pilates, you always hear such great things about it, so when I saw a sign for Mel’s class I knew this was my chance to get started. From the moment I contacted Mel, I knew I had made the right choice. Mel eased me into the class, knowing I had never done Pilates before and also knowing my problem areas. Even though we are in a class she also works with you individually, constantly making sure that you are ok but also making sure that you are challenging yourself. She gives people the option to try more advanced moves if they feel like they can. One of the many great things about Mel’s classes is the mix of levels of the student; Mel manages to make sure everyone feels like they have accomplished greatness even with the stretches. My hip joint was one of my target areas to strike that, as it had not been The same since giving birth to my son, sometimes it was painful even just to sit up. Mel made sure always incorporate that would target that area, and she does this with everyone's target areas! My hip joint has improved far better than I could have ever hoped for, I can feel how much stronger I am now. Pilates has made me stronger, and is making me use muscles I didn't even know when! I am sure that had it not been for Mel's professionalism, great instruction and attention to and attention to every everyone's details including my own, my first experience would not have been as enjoyable as it was and continues to me every time I step into her class.

I've been attending Mel's classes for a couple of years now. She's a brilliant instructor and is sensitive to your ailments so adapts exercises to suit. She's also very good at explaining why the movements are good and what's good to do at home. As a MS sufferer I have noticed the benefits of attending her classes and I'm more mindfully aware of my body.

Love Mels Pilates, different every week so you don't get bored with the same old routines, she explains everything really well. I'm much more flexible and my core strength has definitely improved.
